The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, protected by Waterguard
This summer the tennis courts at Wimbledon will be protected from the damage caused by burst or leaking water pipes, by four Water Leak Detection Systems supplied by Waterguard Services Limited of Barnsley.
During the winter months, when the tournament courts, some changing rooms and other facilities are unused for playing, Waterguard Water Leak Detection units will be watching for unusual activity in the water pipes. In the event of a burst, leak or accidental damage, The Waterguard System will automatically shut off the water supply. As part of a refurbishment and new build prior to the 2009 Championships, contractor Skanska installed 4 Waterguard Systems in all Championships courts.
Skanska have specified and installed Waterguard for many years and in a variety of premises. As with previous installations Waterguard Services engineers were pleased to assist with the commissioning at The All England Lawn Tennis Club. It's a very small risk, but without Waterguard protection, burst could cause a great deal of damage.
