South Yorkshire based company safeguard the largest shopping centre in Europe
The South Yorkshire based, Waterguard Services Ltd, have their unique leak detection device installed onto Westfield Group’s Stratford City development site.
The UK’s leading shopping centre developers, the Westfield Group, is currently developing the largest urban shopping centre in Europe. Deemed the ‘Gateway to London’s Olympic Park’, the £1.45 billion retail and leisure centre will comply with some of the most stringent environmental and sustainable development standards ever applied to an urban development in this country. The BREEAM compliant Waterguard system has been installed on the significant temporary water supply to protect the site from accidental water damage during the construction phase.
Mike Chambers, Director, Waterguard Services Ltd, commented "We are very proud to have been chosen to secure the Westfield Stratford City site from potential water damage. We have seen the devastating effects water damage can have on a property and for a site of this size, even the smallest leak can be catastrophic".

The Stratford City site has been designed to achieve excellence in environmental sustainability and by installing the Waterguard system, Westfield not only ensures the site complies with rigorous building and development standards, but also greatly reduces environmental impact.
