York University has installed Waterguard water leak devices and equipment across their entire multi-million pound Heslington East development.

The 116 hectare site, Heslington East, was acquired in 2007 by York University, to accommodate their new academic and residential buildings alongside many knowledge-based businesses.
With such a large scale, important project, York University chose to entrust the water leak detection to Waterguard Services Limited. With water leaks causing millions of pounds worth of damage each year, installing the Waterguard devices throughout the development seemed the obvious choice.
The University chose the best device, from the Waterguard range of water leak detection equipment, to protect everything from living accommodation to classroom and businesses, ensure that every drop of water that flows through the Heslington East development is monitored.
The unique Waterguard water leak devices and equipment not only protect against potential water damage, they help to prevent water wastage, reducing the Universities environmental impact and saving money
Wayne Strachan, Director, Waterguard Services Ltd, commented
“We are happy to be working with York University to ensure that the new Heslington East development is protected from potential water damage. We have seen the devastating effects water damage can have on a property and for a site of this size, even the smallest leak can be catastrophic.
“Waterguard works to ensure that water is conserved and properties are protected. The Heslington East development is a fantastic addition to the already impressive Hull University portfolio and we are proud to be part of it.”
